Hi, it’s Angela Beavers and I want to share a baby themed project with you. My little baby dresser was inspired by a project that Shelly Hickox shared on her blog. I love the little chest she created with a card on top. I decided to create a double stacked dresser which would make a perfect gift for the mother of a new baby. Let me share with you how I created mine.
*Before assembling, paint all of the chipboard & wooden feet with white paint.
*Cut eight drawers & covers from kraft chipboard and assemble using ECD tape. Apply pattern paper to each of the drawer fronts & sides. Tape four drawers together with two of the openings facing the front & two facing the back. Repeat this for the second set of drawers. Using a crop-a-dile, punch a hole in the drawer front. Add a decorative circle die cut from brown cardstock & place a hitch fastner in the hole for the knob. Do this for all eight drawers.
*Cut three pieces of chipboard at 6 x 5.50. Center the first set of drawers on top of the chipboard and attach using ECD tape. Attach the second chipboard piece & then the drawers and attach the third piece of chipboard to the top. Lay the dresser on its top and using glossy accents, glue on the wooden feet.
*Cut the brown mat for the top at 5.75 x 5.25 and the patterned paper at 5.50 x 5. Attach both using ECD tape. Create a card from white cardstock and die cut the word congratulations using the stand up helper die. Die cut the word a second time from brown cardstock and attached it over the white word to make it “pop”.
*Attach pattern paper to the card front. The duck was die cut and put on the card front. Use the party hat from Props 2 to create the banners. Die cut alpha letters to spell “B A B Y”. Small holes were punched in the banner and blue twine was strung through and the banner was placed on the card with pop dots.
*Pattern paper was added to the dresser sides & the back of the card. The card will lie flat or stay popped up when using the stand up helper.
I had a great time creating this baby dresser and I hope you are inspired to create your own project using a baby theme!
